Other handy travel tips

Ensure that you always carry valuables in your hand luggage and not in your hold luggage

Ensure that you declare any expensive equipment which you are taking out of the country  e.g. laptops, cameras, etc. This is to avoid being asked to pay import duties when entering the country

When you book a ticket, check that your passport is valid for a minimum of 6 months from your return date

Supply your agent with your contact number when travelling as well as a next of kin in SA

Do you have Travel Insurance?  We can assist with either a top up or a full policy

Ensure you have the necessary Vaccinations / Inoculations

Do you have a valid visa for the country you are travelling through and to?

Ensure you download the necessary apps for online check in – this will avoid queuing at the airport

Mobile Phones: It is more cost effective to purchase a Local Sim card than be on International Roaming

Travelling with children: Ensure you are carrying an Unabridged Birth Certificate / necessary approval if travelling with one parent

Travelling when pregnant: Ensure you have the necessary permission from your Doctor

Unaccompanied minors (5yrs – 12yrs): advise your consultant so that they can ensure they have all the relevant information

Wheelchair / Medical cases: ensure you advise your consultant as each airline has different specifications for travel
